"Enchanting
Location - Paradise Found"
Tobago (together with its sister island Trinidad)
are the most southerly Caribbean islands just
off the coast of Venezuela, were once linked
to the South American continent and this geological
link reflects itself in its flora and fauna.
The exquisite island of Tobago measures just
26 miles (42 km.) by 7 miles (10 km.) with a
total area of only 116 square miles (300 km.2),
like a fish in shape, and is washed by the Caribbean
sea on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the
other.
Tobagos topography is rugged with low
mountains and elevations of up to a maximum
of 1890 feet (576m)
Climate and Weather
Conditions in Tobago
"From radiant
Sunrise to romantic Sunset" Tobago enjoys a warm, tropical and glorious
sunny climate all-the-year round, the average
daytime temperature being 83F (29C) while at
night temperatures may fall to 77F (25C) or
less with little seasonal variation. Water sport
lovers will welcome seas only a few degrees
lower in temperature.
The dry and sunny season is from January to
May and the official rainy season
from June to December, however, it is possible
to enjoy many days on the beach even during
this latter period. Trade winds and the odd
short shower may occur all the year round, and
are often welcomed! - but do not detract from
the wonderful climate of Tobago which is a joy
to be experienced by all.
It is understandable that you might like to
spend all your days in the beautiful sunshine,
but we suggest you take care particularly during
the mid-day period between 11.00
a.m. and 2.00 p.m. when even on the odd overcast
occasion a high protection factor sun cream
is advised.
